Assessment System (Tests & Exams)

Assessment and evaluation are vital components of the academic journey at Kongu Kalvi Nilayam. Our well-structured assessment system is designed to monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and ensure preparedness for board examinations.

Examination Pattern

  • The academic year is divided into three terms:
    • Term I: June to September
    • Term II: October to December
    • Term III: January to April
  • Each term includes
    • Mid-Term Tests
    • Terminal Examinations
    • Cyclic Weekly Tests (Class-specific for continuous learning)

Report Cards & Parent Communication

  • After every major test or exam, progress reports are issued and sent home for parent review and signature.
  • Parents are expected to track their child's academic performance and attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) regularly to discuss progress and areas for improvement.

Academic Support

  • Based on test outcomes, remedial classes and special guidance are arranged for students who need extra help.
  • For Board Classes (Grades 10 & 12), preparatory exams, revision sessions, and mock tests are conducted intensively.
  • Periodic assessments are used to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses to guide them toward better academic outcomes.

Examination Code of Conduct

  • Students must not be absent during examinations except in cases of genuine emergencies supported by valid medical certificates.
  • Strict action is taken against malpractice or copying.
  • Students are expected to maintain decorum during all exams and follow seating plans, timing, and instructions precisely.

Our assessment system ensures not only academic accountability but also helps build a mindset of consistency, discipline, and continuous improvement in every student.
