At Kongu Kalvi Nilayam Matric Higher Secondary School, we uphold discipline, responsibility, and respect as the cornerstones of a nurturing and productive learning environment. Our rules and regulations are framed to create a culture of orderliness, safety, punctuality, and mutual respect among students, staff, and parents.
General Conduct
- Every student must maintain discipline, display good behavior, and respect teachers, staff, and fellow students.
- Students must speak only in English on the school campus to develop fluency and maintain uniformity.
- Obedience, cleanliness, punctuality, and good manners are expected at all times.
- Students indulging in indiscipline or misconduct are liable to be warned, suspended, or dismissed as per the school’s discretion.
Attendance & Punctuality
- Students must attend school regularly and punctually.
- Latecomers must report to the office and obtain a written note before entering the class.
- Minimum attendance of 90% is compulsory to be eligible for examinations.
- Absentees for more than 3 days must submit a written leave letter, and medical certificate is mandatory in case of illness.
Uniform & Appearance
- Students must attend school in full uniform, neat and well-ironed.
- Hair should be neatly groomed; ornaments or fancy accessories are strictly prohibited.
- Wearing of jewellery is not allowed—the school is not responsible for any loss.
Academics & Homework
- Students must prepare their lessons daily and complete homework and assignments on time.
- All textbooks and notebooks must be properly labeled, neatly maintained, and covered.
- Students must carry only required books as per the timetable to avoid carrying heavy bags.
Classroom Etiquette
- Students must keep classrooms clean and tidy.
- No student is allowed to leave the class or school premises without permission from the principal.
- Speaking out of turn, damaging school property, or using offensive language will not be tolerated.
Progress & Parental Involvement
- Parents are expected to monitor the academic progress and discipline of their child.
- Progress Reports will be sent to parents after each test/exam and must be signed and returned promptly.
- Parents are requested to attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to stay informed and involved.
Prohibited Activities
- Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, or any unauthorized items are strictly banned inside the campus.
- Chewing gum, spitting, scribbling on walls/desks, and other unhygienic or damaging behaviors are punishable.
- Use of foul language, bullying, or physical aggression will result in disciplinary action.
Examination Conduct
- Students must not be absent during examinations unless under genuine circumstances.
- Leave during exams is strictly discouraged. Any absence must be supported by a medical certificate.
- Students caught using unfair means will be debarred from further examinations and face disciplinary action.
Final Note
Failure to follow school rules may result in warnings, parental notification, suspension, or dismissal depending on the severity of the violation. Our goal is to instill a self-driven sense of discipline so students grow into respectful, responsible individuals.
